The Iron Horse is Durango's Memorial Day weekend bike race, May 22 to 24, 2026. The citizens' tour leaves Saturday, May 23 at 8:00 a.m. from 33rd Street and East 2nd Avenue and rides to Silverton.
Packet pickup is Friday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Buckley Park, 1250 Main Avenue. During the race, U.S. 550 between Purgatory and Silverton is closed to other traffic. If you are driving north that morning, do not count on the highway.
