Durango stretches Independence Day across July 2 to 5. The two clocks that matter on July 4 itself are the Freedom 5K at 9:00 a.m. and the parade, which steps off at 4:30 p.m. and is through by about 5:15.
The parade uses Main Avenue from 6th Street to 12th Street. That is the historic commercial core, and it closes while the parade is on it. Standing room is the sidewalk. If you want a seat, claim it before mid-afternoon.
