True Western Roundup is the long rodeo season at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Avenue. In 2026 it runs about April 25 through September 4, mostly on Wednesday nights.
Gates open at 5:00 p.m. Most rodeos start at 6:30 p.m. The July 3 and July 4 performances move to 7:00 p.m. The grounds are on north Main, past the historic grid, with room to park that downtown does not have.
