Animas City
In-Town
Animas City was the town already here when the railroad company laid out Durango to the south. It runs along North Main, with older houses, mid-century blocks, and newer infill, and it was later taken into the city. The river trail is a short ride west.
The north side
The plats north of downtown are the same streets, not gated communities. North Durango includes blocks along East 2nd and runs toward Fassbinder Park and College Drive. The Fassbinder Addition is the houses near that park, including East 3rd. Thompson's Addition includes Delwood Circle. Easter Heights is along North College Drive, on the way out toward the valley. Highland Park is on Hidden Valley Circle. Animas Heights is the homes on Spruce Drive, above the flats along North Main.
