Horse Gulch Trail System
Half Ridge Trail
In 2022, the local trail group, working with the City of Durango, created this one-mile contour trail and it joins to Charmed, EZ, Flame Out and Extended Ridge.
Half Ridge Trail was formerly a 30% grade fire road which was never reclaimed after being built for a small fire in Horse Gulch around the year 2000.

Getting there
Parking at Horse Gulch Trailhead. Begin at Main Avenue and 9th Street, then go south on Main and turn left on College Drive (6th Street). Right onto East 8th Avenue, then left onto East 3rd Street. The Horse Gulch Trail System lot is behind the Mercy Medicine parking.
