A long doubletrack loop with steep pitches and rocky sections. Hikeable, though most people ride pieces of it rather than the whole 39 miles.
Aspen Loop is a 39-mile double-track. Some pitches are steep and rocky, but most of it is reasonable to hike or ride.

Getting there
Aspen Loop Trail Parking at Transfer Campground Leaving Durango, take Hwy 160 west towards Mancos. Make a right at Hwy 184 and your 2nd right towards Jackson Lake. Follow the road until it turns to dirt (approximately 8 miles) and park at the Transfer Campground. From there you can ride up the Forest service road to the Aspen Loop trail head signs, or keep going to the where the road ends at the Sharkstooth Trailhead where you can ride another 6 miles to the Colorado Trail.
