Hoffheins Trail

After hiking 4.05 miles along the Lower Colorado Trail to Gudy’s Rest you can turn left to head down Hoffheins and loop back around from Dry Fork , back to the Colorado Trail.

Hoffheins allows the lower Colorado Trail to be accessed as a loop versus the well-used out-and-back.

Getting there

Dry Fork Trailhead From downtown Durango, head West on Hwy 160, then turn right on Lightner Creek Road (CR 207). At the T in road, stay straight onto the State Widlife area (CR 208). Take one more right at the split toward Silver Mountain Ranch and a final left at the split away from Silver Mountain Ranch. This parking spot is Dry Fork. Hofheins makes up part of the Dry Fork/Hofheins/CT Loop.
