Haflin Creek to Missionary Ridge is a good half-day, advanced hike, bike or horseback through the dramatic remnants of the 2002 Missionary Ridge Fire.
Haflin Canyon takes you up from the Animas Valley through nearly 3,000 feet of ascent.

Getting there
Haflin Creek Parking Area. Begin at Main Avenue and 9th Street, then go east on 9th Street, toward 2nd Avenue. Make a left onto east 3rd Street and turn right onto Florida Road. At the round-a-bout stay straight to keep following Florida Road. Make a left onto CR 250 at the traffic light. After 5 miles, a dirt parking spot will be on your right. Haflin Creek trail will ascend from this parking spot.
